Stromanthe 'Triostar', about a year now in a Joey Pouch on my desktop at the nursery. The entire center died out over that time, replaced by the nice, new growth around the perimeter of the rootball where the soil contacts the Joey foam substrate. Vigorous roots in the water inside the container. It's all good, folks.

Not directly under a four-tube fluorescent slimline fixture that is about five feet above my desk. I could not previously keep one of these alive via topwatering methods...the Joey did the trick.
