Hi All,
New to the interiorscape biz but very interested in making homes and offices greener. Looking for information on start up costs including marketing and equipment. |

You might contact the local chapter of SCORE (the Service Corps of Retired Executives), which can connect you with someone locally who can help you for free. You might even be lucky enough to find a SCORE volunteer who has some experience in our business, but even if not, the advice you receive will be very helpful to you as a startup.
That said, you're going to need a vehicle and some basic plant maintenance tools, maybe even a watering machine one day when you have enough accounts to justify the cost. As for marketing, build yourself a website and get yourself a web presence for starters. If there is a chapter of IFMA or BOMA in your area, inquire about joining so you'll be noticed by property owners and managers of commercial buildings who might become your clients. I could go on and on, but start with SCORE and the basics and come back here with questions, or join the Interiorscape.com Facebook group, where there are lively discussions on an ongoing basis. https://www.facebook.com/groups/interiorscape ... Best of luck with your new venture! |

Than you Clem, this is very valuable info. I'm researching your suggestions as I write.
Thanks again. Trish |
