Hello everyone, you should be aware that the third and final Public Comments period for proposed changes to the USGBC's LEED green building certification program is from March 1 to March 20, 2012. This is your time to make your voice heard and tell USGBC what you think about the changes being proposed for the LEED program this year. You can find out more at USGBC.org. We also have an online course that goes over the LEED program and the proposed changes and pilot credits so you can be aware of what's happening. We're donating $10 from every registration to Green Plants for Green Buildings so it's for a good cause.
Even if you don't do any work with green buidings you need to know what's happening. The LEED program both creates and follows the trends in the buildings industry and many of the changes deal with landscaping practices, irrigation, water conservation, EPD's and responsible sourcing of raw materials, the use of PVC-based materials, etc. This will have a far-reaching effect on how we do business! |
