Got this in my inbox from an old 'scaper buddy of mine and thought I'd share it...

Which side of the fence?

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".

Sounds about right. In your country the Repubs think about the politics of ME whilst the Dems think of the politics of WE.  Somedays I'm glad to be a Canuck.

Thanks for the laffs!

That's why the USA became the world leader in just about anything worthwhile you can name, while some other places just float on our wake.

Excuse my language friends English is not my native tongue:

If a Democrat is homosexual he may marry his long time parter and enjoy the rights of society.
If a Republican is homosexual he lives in the closet and fears being found out.

If a Democrat woman wants the right to choose the size of her family she can.
If a Republican woman wants to right to choose the size of her family she can't.

If a Republican is unemployed he blames the government for too much regulations.
If a Democrat is unemployed he brushes up his skills and goes out an gets a job.

In an ideal world the Democrats drinks clean water from the tap.
In a Republican world he looks at the tap and says no way am I drinking that!

Perhaps it should be phrased a bit differently...

If a liberal...
If a conservative...

Political party does not necessarily describe one's world view.

I could counter with these truisms:

ANYONE can enjoy all the rights our Constitution grants us as citizens...he doesn't need to be deemed a "protected class" to do so (that will only grant him MORE rights than the rest of us enjoy, and engender resentment among the majority).

ANYONE can choose the size of her family if she practices birth control BEFORE the fact.

ANYONE can find himself unemployed and unable to get a job in a crisis economy...it's like musical chairs: if there are fewer companies hiring, and there aren't enough jobs to accommodate the demand for them, people will remain out of work IN SPITE OF their skills (I have a friend who was out of work in the insurance industry for 18 months and just found a job last week).

In an ideal world a lot of things would be without risk...but that's a specious argument, because there never has been nor will there ever be "an ideal world".

Oh, I think until November of next year...

Not sure what is going to happen in November of next year. Based on what i saw in the way of republican debates Monday night, may have to run to Canada if one of these candidates gets in.  The cheering, clapping & acceptance by some audience members of the mention of someone dying due to lack of insurance is disturbing.  Throw the tea out with the bathwater-imo!
Great comeback Lacy LaPlant!

Why post this? Did you think members of this forum are only republican/conservative? What if potential clients view this? Anyway, kudos to Lacy!

All work and no play...anyway, if the forum verifies that you are a trade member, there's no fear of outsiders snooping into private conversations...after all, we talk a lot about PITA clients here, and if they were to see that, it wouldn't be cool, right?  Sorry to have offended your political sensibilities, but as Mick Jagger once said, "**** 'em if they can't take a joke!"

It's only a funny joke when everyone laughs. Otherwise it's generally considered to be making fun of others. Something my mother taught me was uncouth.

That's a lot of pressure for an amateur comic...something most professional comedians couldn't even hope to accomplish..."it's only a funny joke when everyone laughs"...wow...I think it's like anything else, if you find it funny, you laugh...if not, you move on...I don't find Will Ferrell funny at all, but I wouldn't deny him the right to try to make people laugh..."making fun of others"?  As my high school librarian always said (in his charming broken English/French Canadian accent): "if the shoe fits, put it on!"

Have a nice day!

Oh it is always so funny to make fun of the Canadian.  As they say here, don't give up your day job.  And good luck in November, it is not looking so good for the rightwing neighbors to the south.  Mr. Romney? Mr. Santorum? and i think Mr. Gingrouch is out of the game as they say.  But it is funny never the less.
