Wow. Just wow.
I thought this would be a forum I could come to to feel like there were people out there in my industry, that "got it". This stuff is part of why I love working with plants. Theres no BS from them. Anyway, to get back on topic...which is why I clicked the subject; While there are many places people can find plants indoors around here ( MA/NH/ME) Whenever I use the term Interior Plantscaper, they all start discussing their outdoor landscapes. "I take care of indoor items, I stopped landscaping years ago" (when my first bout of Melanoma was diagnosed) Anyway, I usually have to explain to them that the live plants that are in malls, restaurants, commercial buildings, offices spaces are usually called/taken care of by Interior Plantscapers. There has to my knowledge, never been anyone in the 20 years I've been doing this, calling me a "scaper". Plant Lady yes...Scaper, no. Depending on mood/situation, I usually reply with, "hello Accounting Dude, or whatever their title is" usually names are remembered after that. It's a wierd ice breaker. Laughter usually is. |

Just an observation from a first time poster.
I am glad I have more things to worry about than what people call themselves in this industry."Scaper" doesn't bother me even though I prefer "the guy with a green thumb".Perhaps business is not so good for K and in an effort to upgrade the image the thought about the term "scaper" came to mind.However,if "professionalism" is the concern then it appears K has missed the mark .Kentia,it appears that Clem may have forgotten more about this subject than you have learned to this point and his tank is still full. Just saying... |

Here we go again same old stuff again. Kentia is "one" of the finest palm specimens IMHO. Great SN! With regard to O'l Mr. Clem'r and his knowledge, yes he has a bit of knowledge I must admit. I don't know about forgetting more than anyone or just never registering it as he may or may not have ever used it. I find most of it is easily researched on the net as he suggested in his previous posts (which would lead others to believe he has a lot of knowledge). What he has most of all though is way to much time on his hands (I did a search of all of his posts on the old site and the amount of time he was spending "during work hours I might add" was just amazing (staggering)to me) and a ego that is easily bruised LOL. It really cracks me up. I have not been on this site in months, as well as months prior to that. ("truly like it though" I hope to spend much more time here learning and helping others. (Can you say serious work to do?)) Each time O'l Mr. Clem is in a dispute with other members whenever I come on here. I seriously thought at one point that it was others just being rude. He sure had Jeff convinced of that. I am now convinced that it is a way that Clem releases his frustration. 
Go get'm Clem'r! P.S. Get Barb in here she will save ya! ROFLMAO. Hats off to those who put up the cash to buy this domain. I know about what it went for and it was not cheap. I wish you all the best. |

This is my first return here and...kentias are costing me my patience.
I too am uncrazy about i]scaper but interiorscape is in my company name so it appears to be locked in for most of us but not the most embraceable term agreed Is the other post interiorscape forum still functioning? I liked the face pics there with names and the lack of testiness that is here so far |

There is no absence of "testiness" on the other forum, but at least you know who you're conversing with, and that tends to enforce some level of cordiality (or at least civility). Here, you're conversing with many nameless, faceless unknown entities, which tends to discourage open discourse.

Yeh, I tell you this is just horrible.((((not)))) And to think that where things get testy clem's always right in the middle of it, what a shame.
